Social Skills & Social Cognition at Greenwich Education and Prep
Students who exhibit learning differences often also experience difficulty with social skills. At Greenwich Education and Prep, we consider each student's unique learning profile and constellation of social sub-skills when developing his or her individual program.
In our BOOM! social skills programs, we tailor our services to fit each individual child. Instruction can be provided in a one-on-one, group, or combined one-on-one and group setting, depending on the student's needs. Children who have difficulty socializing often experience difficulty with some or many of the following skills we teach: play skills, eye contact, manners, empathy, perspective taking, positive interactions, sharing, taking turns, asking for help, starting a conversation, maintaining a conversation, greetings, appropriate conversational proximity, joining a group of children, looking and listening, appropriately responding to competition, and compromising. |
